Pickup Truck Running Boards
twenty two years and have never seen so many trucks so far.
I really tried to understand this phenomenon and have come up with some ideas.
1. SoCal is for surfers. What better place to hang ten than comfortable in the waters off the coast of California. Unless you are living the dream and the homeowner on the beach, which is like most of us and have to drive to the beach, usually takes a road. Surfboards are not exactly an easy matter to carry. They are big, fragile, and relentless. So you can see owning a pickup truck is helping with the transport of your board to and fro from the beach. Also, you do not need worry about any sand inside. This seems a justifiable reason for buying an SUV, but why not take a board rack of your car?
2. The gas mileage is not so bad. You're probably truck gas mileage may not be so bad, but far from good. And the last time I checked prices gas were in the clouds. I think that gas is now over $ 3.50 a gallon. Prices on the East Coast are at least 50 cents cheaper per gallon. One might think that California drivers would be trying to take the steps they could to conserve gas. Why not consider a hybrid? Sure that can not be so fresh, large, or men, such as truck, but at least will not spend your paycheck all the gas.
3. I'm in construction. Ok this is a good reason to have a pickup truck. I still think people should still consider buying a cheap car that is good gas mileage. This way they could have your driver a day for errands and what not and the truck exclusively for work.
4. Trucks are for large dogs. It seems that people here treatment of the trucks almost like a luxury vehicle. In the Northeast, people spring for luxury vehicles - BMW, Mercedes, Lexus, etc. I have not really seen that Many luxury cars around San Diego. I've seen a lot of big trucks that are decorated with lift kits, tires, exhaust pipes. I work for a company car, so I know how expensive these spare parts are true. All these elements can easily total up to a few large - very easily. But what is strange is that most of these items are for cosmetic purposes. The trucks need only lift kits, whether to use off-road, which requires a lot of demining. Unfortunately, most of the trucks I've seen are, for lack of a better term, too good to be taken off-road or paste. So my conclusion is that people dump thousands of dollars in the transformation of their trucks in a swamp monster, but harsher conditions than most of these trucks is seen is 8.
But when it comes down to it, people love their trucks. They are die hard fans and just do not give up to them. They sacrifice their hard-earned money and pay more for gas. They will try and jam them in tight parking spaces. They paid the ultimate price for them. Oh well, if you can not beat them, join them.
