What are Nerf bars?

Anybody ever heard of nerf bars?

I just got a set on my truck about three weeks ago, and WOW do they look nice! They are all stainless. No stupid black plastic endcaps. 

Grille Guard - Nerf Bars for a new Hummer H3

I am wondering if there are any 1 piece grille guards out there in stainless (to match the nerf bars) that are not priced out of the stratosphere? Also, I would love to be able to keep the existing tow hooks on the truck after the guard
